Byung Hong holds a Law Degree from the São Paulo State University. He has taken the Orientation in the US Legal System Program of Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Computer and Telecommunications Law and of the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL). He is experienced on corporate and commercial law, with a focus on private equity/venture capital, Mergers and acquisitions, maritime law, foreign investment, and information technology.

Represented Spanish entity in the acquisition of a strategic minority stake in movie-theater company;
Represented private equity investor in the registration thereof as asset manager with the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM);
Represented the controlling group of a Brazilian leading furniture manufacturer in its corporate restructuring;
Represented Brazilian leading mining group in the due diligence review for the acquisition of the nickel mining company from a foreign investor;
Represented state-controlled financial institution in restructuring its activities in preparation of the sale of the credit cards and retail finance, insurance, leasing and asset management divisions to strategic purchasers;
Represented major airline company in the structuring of a domestic debenture program;
Represented the controlling group of a leading Brazilian B2B company in the sale of a strategic stake to a private equity group;
Represented large car transportation operator in the structuring of its car carrier business in Brazil;
Represented merchant marine company in the restructuring of its special cargo business in Brazil;
Represented private equity group in the divestment of a plastic company;
Represented private equity group in the divestment of a telecommunications company;
Represented the controlling group of a chemical company in the sale of a strategic majority stake;
Represented the controlling group of a leading Brazilian B2B company in the sale of a strategic stake to a private equity group;
Represented the controlling group of a food company in the sale of 100% of the shares to a foreign group;
Represented telecom group in the sale of 100% of the shares of a telecom operator;
Represented controlling shareholders of cosmetic company if in the sale of 100% shares of the company to a foreign investor;
Represented private equity group in the formation of an investment fund for a targeted amount of up to R$150MM.
